For any of you who do not know, Lourdes in the south of France is roman catholic miracle country. It is where a well documented visitation from the virgin Mary occured.

What this means is that every convenience store in the area has an ample supply of cigarettes, condoms, and statuettes of the Mother of God. There were also little mints and candies with religious pictures on them.

It was a bit of an exhausting trip, 12 hours each way, but the day itself was pleasantly spent. The day was dreadful, as the photos can attest, but it kept the French heat at bay, so I am grateful.
