Sorry folks it's been awhile, but we are on a 21 day safari through South Western Africa. Internet is not readily available and when it is, it can be dodgy. We will try our best to stay in touch.

Let's see, where were we? We met our group of 9 people in Livingstone, Zambia and after spending a few days viewing the falls and learning about the African culture we headed to Botswana. I've (Dasha) always wanted to visit Botswana. There was something special about Botswana, perhaps it was its people and culture, animals, and its exotic land.

More about Bots
"Batswana" is the term used to explain the people who live here.  Since 1966, Botswana has been declared an independent country and fully democratic. About 70% of Botswana is immersed in the Kalahari desert and is basically flat.

Botswana hasn't dissapointed so far.  We have done so many wonderful things it would take a whole week to describe in detail all the amazing things we have witnessed so far.

For those who like point form, here are my highlights:

-Camping in the Delta in complete bushland and being with "One" with the land and animals

-3 words: Animals, animals, and animals!!!!!

-Taking the slow boat Mokoro through the lazy river and watching time slowly pass by

-Basking in the African sun and watching the sun go down behind the Acacia trees

-Going on bush walks through the islands and seeing the animals in their natural habitats

I (Dasha) LOVE BOTSWANA.  For now, I have done my best to post a bazillion pictures for you! I have to admit, I can't take all the credit as my friend Sid, took some fantastic professional looking shots that are posted here!

Keeping it short and sweet.

All the best,
Dasha
