This morning we were determined to be more productive than yesterday. We still want to lay low, but we also want to accomplish some of the tasks that we've been putting off. Tasks like paying the credit cards and planning our trip ahead. We were in town long enough to enjoy a set menu that started with delicious cheese and salmon empanadas. To follow, I had the seafood lasagna – filled with clams, mussels and scallops, and Marie had the steak. My goodness the food is good here.

It probably wasn’t a good idea to go clothes shopping after. Any weight that we lost at the beginning of the trip has been gained back in cream sauces, empanadas, avocados and cheese.

We know that the next segment of our trip will include some challenging treks so we headed to the old church at the top of the hill. Although it is closed for the day, it is a beautiful church from the outside as well.

From there, we headed for a quick grocery shop. This will be the largest city we’ll be in until Buenos Aires, so we do our best to stock up on key snacks and food.

Back at the hostel, we made ourselves one of our first nutritious meals of our trip, or so it seems to us at the time. We found whole grain spaghetti and their version of tomato sauce, which comes in a metal foil bag. Coupled with heaps of fresh vegetables, we were in heaven. It was just the boost we needed to get some more computer work and trip planning done.

Hope all is well!

Love,

Gary and Marie
