We drove north past Whistler up to Pemberton, which seemed like a bit of a hick town, but the scenery in the area is amazing. We had lunch in the one cafe in town, alongside cowboys and bikers. We drove a bit further north to Joffre Lakes Provincial Park, where we went on a three-hour hike to a couple of glacial lakes. After being sunny all morning, it started to rain half way up, but we had rain jackets and pushed on. We were rewarded with a breathtaking view - a stunning turquoise glacial lake, surrounded by lush green pines and topped by an amazing snow-capped peak in the background. It was another "I'm in Canada!" moment. Luckily the rain stopped and the brilliant blue sky returned for the rest of the long weekend. Back in the carpark we saw several chipmunks and a hummingbird!
