From there we headed south to Hope, stopping at several provincial parks along the way. The prettiest was Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park, where we did a walk through the forest to a beautiful old bridge across the river with vibrant yellow trees arching behind it.
By the time we reached Hope it was dinner time so we went to a renowned diner and had a pre-Thanksgiving roast dinner!
The next day it rained torrentially nearly all day and thwarted our plans of any hikes. We visited the Hope Bridge, which featured in the first Rambo movie, and then we took the back road along the river towards Vancouver. On the way we stopped at Harrison Hotsprings, a lakeside resort town, where a worldwide sand sculpture competition was being held, so we had a quick look. From there we visited nearby Deer Lake, where we'd like to go camping sometime as it was really pretty. We stopped at a couple more small provincial parks and an old farm turned museum, then drove through the outskirts of Vancouver and some suburbs we had heard of but never been to. In the end we were so sick of the rain we didn't want to drag the day out any longer so we headed home, as it was truly miserable weather.
