I have been here more than most places
1st time: after freshman year of high school, my classmate, and the best travel buddy ever, Carla Lee, invites me to Hong Kong. Carla and her sister Carling go back every summer to visit grandparents, and other family. I stayed about 2-3 weeks, and it made quite an impression on me I think. Thus my obsession with visiting China.
2nd time: My family likes to travel, and that summer we decided to do a tour of China. The first part was a stop in good old HK. Carla came with us, and it was funny because everybody thought my parents adopted a Chinese baby, and she was my sister.
3rd time: Semester abroad Spring 2003, Syracuse program at Hong Kong City University. Needless to say, it was awesome. That is until the SARS epidemic broke out and they sent us home 6 weeks early. That sucked.
4th time: My brother Nate also did his junior semester abroad in HK. (After some strong lobbying from me!) After my exams that spring I flew out to meet him for a couple weeks before he headed off to his trip to Kashgar.
The photos in this entry are a random selection from last two trips, since 2003 is also when I bought my digital camera, at Fortress electronics in Festival Walk, the mall connected to City U. (Yes, that's right, I said a mall is connected to the school. Ah, the nostalgia)
