After being away from home for an extended period of time one certainly begins to miss family. Thankfully the family decided that a trip to Florence was in the cards and they arrived ready for some Florentine fun. After catching their delayed connection from Frankfurt to the Firenze airport, we waisted no time as they arrived at their hotel. It was off to dinner at a local trattoria.

We spent the following days in Florence seeing an amazing array of historical sights and landmarks. With day trips to wineries and Sienna we had a busy scheduel but covered the most important highlights of the Tuscany region. Here Daniel and I are amidst the rooftops of Sienna.

As mother perused the artwork within the Duomo, the boys marched to the top of the dome which was no small feet. After three spiral stairways and a climb along the curved surface of the inner dome we reached the peak.

As mom and dad retired to the hotel Westin Excelsior Daniel and I decided that the night life of Florence was equally as important as the artistic day excursions. There are a variety of night spots ranging from Irish pubs to Italian chic bars to full out discotheques. Here I am singing "New York, New York" at a club near Santa Croce.

Daniel also enjoyed wowing the Italian women with his American charm and patented glances.
