Along the flight we had met a great deal of people on the same program as Danny and I, Wells College. We conversed more as we waited for the cabin door to be opened. The seats on Al'Italia not being designed for a person of six feet such as myself, my knees were aching as I walked to the baggage claim. Most students retrieved their large suitcases with ease however, a few did not find their belongings in sight. I clutched my luggage, loaded them onto the shuttle and our group drove a short distance to the heart of Rome.
Our hotel was the Pace Elveztia, located only a few blocks from the Colleseum. We moved our belongings up to our rooms and set out into the city for lunch and sight seeing.
