When I arrived in Tirana airport, my bag came through quite quickly, and I just had to go out and look for the 'Sarah' sign that I'd been promised would be waiting for me. Guess what... 20 minutes later, as more and more people met their friends and family and left, I tried to think of an alternative plan. Didn't have the phone number, address, or even the number of the person in England organising it, so there was little I could do that evening. Just as I was resigning myself to a night in the airport followed by a trip to the internet in town the next day, someone appeared with a 'Sarah' sign. 'Hello, have you been waiting long?' he said. Only about 25 panicked minutes. But he was there, and I'd been forewarned that Albanian time is similar to Ugandan time- perhaps not on the same scale, but whats 20 minutes here or there?

Got back to the house in Pascaqan, and discovered that even outside, at midnight, it was still as warm as the hottest day we've had in England over the last few weeks. The other people there had taken their matresses outside onto the balcony and were sleeping there, so I decided to join them. A sheet under the stars was more than enough, and I woke up as soon as the sun came up, as the temperature started to climb. At the moment it's getting to about 40 degrees during the day. Oh, that's in the shade too. So at the moment am in an internet cafe in Tirana centre, which has AC, but am not looking forward to going back out into the midday sun! Also have a feeling I wont be able to update this for at least another week, probably 2, so keep tuned.
