Levuka was a bit dull really, nice colonial buildings but the place smelled of old oily fish... not the nicest smell I can tell you!

Went to Cequlai instead, a stunning little white sand island about 20 mins from Levuka. I spent four days here and it was fantastic. Good food, great company and incredible snokelling. I felt like I was looking at a very expensive aquarium! Especially at low-tide, when I could get right up close to the coral. I didn't even bother diving here because the snorkelling was so good. I was a bit wary after diving in Kadavu that the compressors for the tanks might not be maintained (The gas I tasted in Kadavu definitely tasted of petrol fumes.. yikes!)

We also played a lot of volleyball which made my day, and every night was kava night! I felt totally and utterly relaxed and very happy, especially after convincing the boys to climb a few trees and procure us some fresh coconuts. I can climb them no probs (they have ridges you can just walk up), but I seem to take off half the skin from my inner thighs when I descend... Best left to the professionals...
