Goodbye San Diego...

Goodbye sunny San Diego! I will miss you and all the people I met there especially those of you working in "The Field" Irish bar! Well we've left San Diego and are now in China. Gobnait, a college friend from our time spent in the Cork Regional Technical college, Cork, Ireland is my partner in crime for this trip. During those college days we made a pact that we would go travelling around the World together for a year......but alas in the past ten or so years we never did get around to it so what the hell 34 and 35 years young we're doing it now! FYI I am the younger one!!!The year plan is now six months but sure you'd never know...we might do another six month stint next year!

Anyway, after a hectic day of leaving our apartment(cleaning etc!) in San Diego we got the train to LA which is always a very pleasant train journey up the California coastline. Note to self....it was probably the best train journey I will have in the months to come! We got the LAX shuttle bus across the city to airport. Our flight was not till 1am but our friends Tom and Nikki and of course baby Grace were arriving in from London so we met them for a few hours and a last bevvie. Well we were one of the few Westeners aboard the Air China flight....goodbye Western World.....Asia here we come...
