After a delayed flight, a train ride, and trouble finding my hostel, it was late night by the time I got to my room. I took a shower and went straight to bed.

For my one day in Geneva, I woke up early to have breakfast and head out for the day. I walked around the city, saw the Saint Pierre Cathedral, Old Town, Place Nueva and the Jet d'Eau. Being a Monday in Europe, all the museums were closed, so I instead toured the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Store.

During the afternoon, the weather was beautiful so I walked along the lake for four hours. It was amazing to see the view of the lake, the boats, the old town building and the mountains in the background. The weather was so beautiful out, three Swiss men decided to do an extended polar bear dip with laps in the lake.

Dinner that night was hard to find. I knew going to Switzerland was going to be expensive, but I had no idea how expensive. Fish and Chips for 33 francs ( about $40) and everything else from burgers to pasta at least 23 francs. Finally I ended up at the grocery store, where I was able to buy a pasta salad, a giant soft pretzel, an iced tea and a Swiss chocolate bar, all for 7 francs!

I spent the night in my hostel room talking with the two Dutch girls in my room.

Mom on

I'm surprised you didn't join in the Polar Bear dip. I'm sure you would have outlasted them!
