Barichara is a cute teeny village about halfway between Santa Marta and Bogota. The village has managed to maintain all of its colonial architecture; the streets are cobbled stone, and each house is whitewashed. The village sits atop a mountain, from where you can see the surrounding countryside for miles and miles. In Barichara, about half of the flora is dark purple , and wildflowers grow everywhere. The towns residents wear wollen ponchos for warmth and cowboy hats for style.
