The next morning we woke up to the elderly lady having been amused by Dirks snoring and me saying that was the most fun I've had on a floor… For breakfast we ate coconut roti with mango and passionfruit jam and a fresh pineapple. Deepika then took us to see a tea plantation and I got to dress up in the traditional dress, which being white caused a few stares. We then left to head for Katharagama which ended up being one of the best car journeys ever. We randomly stopped at a DVD store and asked if they had any Singalese CDs the guy replied no but I can burn you one…for less than £1 we got a Singalese man singing waka waka cause this is Africa, Wave your flag, Old Macdonald and Jingle bells all as one epic medley! Nelia once again continued to feed us and at one point we stopped and Ani fed roadworkers cashew buts through the window. The reason for this is because on that journey we literally waved at every single person we drove past. Their excitement and energetic waves back never became boring. In doing this one guy nearly got run over, one guy nearly fell to floor and one guy walked into transformer. I then decided I would try to high five the passenger on a motorbike which was susccessful but soon enough the men on the bikes were stalking us along the sheer cliff roads to Katharagama. After some very CRAZY dancing to Waka Waka which Ani unfortunately got on film, without my seatbelt on (due to lack of seatbelt) we needed a pit stop. When stopping for Tea we realized how much of a sugar addiction Dirk has. Although, we probably ate as much sugar through Nelia’s constant feeding of fruit to us every 2 hours. We then found a 181m high waterfall where we climbed up the rocks to an amazing paddling pool. We decided to paddle but ending up bathing fully clothed, herbal essences advert style under the waterfall, LOL.  That evening in Katharagama we drove approximately 30m to dinner, which Dirk said was driving distance then we visited a Temple, saw a ceremony and the honorary temple Elephant. That evening back at our guesthouse we drunk Arrack and Ani realized his gap year would be more fun if his Mum accompanied us and we listened to the crazy tales of Dirk.
