Last Sunday, Jordan and I went on another nature walk around Harlaxton. We stumbled upon a bathtub and freezers… not really sure why they are out there, but I feel like it is a scene from some scary murder movie.
Wednesday we had our second British Studies Exam… yikes! Then to celebrate St. Patrick's Day there was a party in the Bistro where they had green drinks! Woohoo!
Friday we had our third and final field trip for British Studies. We went to London to see St. Paul’s Cathedral and the National Gallery. St. Paul’s Cathedral was huge and the architecture was so gorgeous! You aren’t supposed to take pictures inside, but I tried to sneak a few. You are also able to climb up a million steps to other galleries that have awesome views of the city. As for the National Gallery, I’m not a big art person, but I actually really liked it. It was cool because we were able to see a lot of paintings we had been studying so I actually knew the history behind them. After that, we were free to do whatever we wanted and I stayed overnight with a bunch of girls. Katie, Molly and I rode the London Eye, which was so gorgeous! We went at a really good time, because it was light out on our way up and dark on our way down with all the city lights turned on. Then we met up with other girls to go out to dinner at a delicious Italian restaurant for someone’s birthday. Then, we checked into our 3 person room for 5 of us and Katie, Mary, Caisey and I went to the pub for a couple drinks before calling it a night.
Saturday morning we went to the changing of the guards which we all missed last time we were in London, because we were told the wrong time. It was cool, but there were a lot of people there so it was hard to see everything. After that we made our way over to Camden Lock Market. I got some good Chinese food and a big warm cookie. Yum! I could have spent all day there, but we only had a couple hours so I really would like to try and make it back to London for one more day. Katie, Molly and I then went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum with all the wax celebrities. It’s a lot of fun to see them and do dumb poses with them. They also had a haunted house type thing and a little roller coaster ride through a bunch more wax figures. Unfortunately, this was the end of our trip and we had to catch our train back to Grantham.
It’s a short week this week. Only 3 days and then I leave for Paris!!!
