First of all, I wanted to say a couple things about my blog. You can subscribe to my blog and get email updates whenever I post something. Also, if you click on the pictures, I have descriptions/comments next to them!

As you know, I went to dinner with my family (Ralph and Judith) on Monday night. They are great! They are an older couple and remind me of my grandparents. It was a lot of fun and is always nice to get out of the refectory. There are two other girls for this family too. Ralph knows we obviously can't drink in the U.S., so he kept trying to offer us different kinds of alcohol. We declined, except for when he just started pouring some kind of lemon alcohol from Italy (and I obviously can’t say no! haha). Dinner went on so long that I missed my London briefing (oops), but it wasn’t a big deal, I just had to go to the assistant dean to sign a paper and pick up the itinerary. I also decided to skip out on the event planning organization, because with travel, my family, and class I really don’t have enough time for it.

Tuesday night I went to something called Ceilidh, pronounced kay-lee (weird, I know). It was Celtic dancing to the music of an Irish band. It was really fun, but I didn’t get the chance to do a whole lot of dancing. Also, the fire alarm went off for the first time. They warned us that the fire alarms are VERY sensitive and can be set off with blow dryers, straighteners, or even hair spray.

Wednesday, the fire alarm went off again… I think I’m going to keep track of how many times it can go off this semester. I went with some girls to get a rail pass and do some more shopping in town. I finally got a watch! … except it’s like an inch too big for my wrist… I guess I’ll just have to deal with it for a few months. I had the Meet-a-Family briefing at night, but since I had already met mine it didn’t really help me.

P.S. here is my address if you want to send anything to me! :]
