London has a huge theater district and up until this point, I hadn't gone to see any plays.  Since I moved out to Richmond, it's been kind of a pain as getting tickets involves getting to London early for a play that won't start until 7:30 pm.

Basically, there's a booth called TKTS and they sell tickets for perfomances that day at half price.  They sell the closest seats first.  You don't get to pick but the earlier you get there the better the seats.  There's always tons of big name musicals and some well known plays so there's usually something to see.  I decided to see Spring Awakening as I kept hearing really good things about the play.

The other way to get tickets is to check online.  Spring Awakening is a lot like Rent which used to only sell the first three rows for cheap on the day of the performance so that anyone could afford a good seat.  Spring Awakening sells their first row for 20 pounds.  Also, if you are a student or unemployed, you can get 25 pound seats anywhere else in the theater.  So, basically, you should never pay full price to get good seats around here.

The musical was also pretty good.  I went to a Wednesday matinee and there seemed to be lots of whiny teenagers in a half filled theater.  But other than that it was good and the music was great.  I'm sure I'll see something else when my parents get here.
