Today we came across to la Casa Del Mundo – for our one expensive night ($34… but considering what that'd get you in England this place is definitely worth it!!!) Next to the village of Jabilito it is truly a slice of heaven on earth (apart from the masses of steps everywhere!!!! (although we reckon it’s good training for the volcano!). It is a series of small building set in the cliff on a small outcrop so that almost everyone has a lakeside view (even our 'economy’ room – sharing a bathroom and toilet between three). The surrounding cliff is covered in beautiful gardens with lots of little patios and plenty of hammocks. There is a swimming terrace where the patios make their way down into the water – and a hot tub that can be rented. On top of this there is delicious food and amazing smoothies to be had. All in all the most luxurious place we’ve been to and we’ll be sad to leave it tomorrow.
The dinner is served ‘family style’ and we’ve already met some very nice people here (mainly English and American actually… whereas we’ve noticed a lot of Europeans around the rest of the lake) and so I’m sure it’ll be a very nice evening.
