Another stunning city. This place has been a real bit of light relief after the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. In comparison the city has alot fewer tourists, which was really nice. We have spent most of our time wandering around, going to the beach and of course watching the football!!
Valencia apparently has a bit of the Holy Grail in it, so we went to visit the cathedral where it is supposed to be housed. You would have thought that I was bored of cathedrals by now, but no, it was stunning, it had bright blue domes and was so clean looking... that sounds wierd, but it describes it well! The city has gardens throughout it, we kept coming across little ones with orange and lemon trees in them. The river used to run through the city, but they changed the course of it and now there is one long garden running right through the city in its place, really beautiful, we spent a long while gong through that. To be honest, the city doesnt really feel ike a city at all...
Have really enjoyed being in a place with a true Spanish feel.
On a lighter note, it is worth mentioning the ladyboys in Valencia. Toni and I have noticed about 6 of them, just wondering down the street....hehe. It is so hard to keep a straight face when they walk part is the fact that they are so obviously not ladies. oh dear.
We spent yesterday on the beach, by far my favourite one so far, the sand was so soft and water very warm...mmmmm. I am becoming a bit of a beach connaisseur (spelling!??). No complaints there!
Heading to Madrid later today, have no idea what to expect, planning to watch some bull fighting if we can. scary. Just checked the weather, 35 degrees tomorrow. aahhhhh.
After that its only San Sebastian, Paris and then home, I cant believe how fast time has gone, of course some home comforts will be nice, but I dont really want to come home yet... the trip is truly brilliant.
Hope you are all well. Much love xxxxxxxxxxxxx
