So today was our last day at the apple plant and we are really happy about it! Overall the experience was a great one, but its time to keep travelling. We both worked a few 12.5 hr days this week, to end the week on a tired note. We have met a tone of great people since being in the same town for 6 weeks. Lots of other travellers and lots of Kiwis too.

The last few weeks we have been keeping busy around the Nelson/Motueka area. We did a few day hikes up to some local mountain areas and spent some more time on the beaches. The weather has definately changed to winter weather now. Its really cold at night and we had snow on the near by mountains last week. It seems like we kind of just skipped right past autumn. The leaves dont change color as dramatically as they do at home, so its easy to miss.

We are planning on taking the ferry over to the North Island this week to continue our travels.

I am so thirsty from you talking about all those apples. You say it's like fall there, well it's the middle of April here and it's like global cooling! The crocuses,forsythia,daffodils and cherry blossoms are out here! It's climbing up in temperature ever so gradually. It's always a pleasure to see your latest photos and to read your comments.
