So by now we have a good week of apple sorting and boxing under our belt and boy are we pros!

There isn't a whole lot to say about it... its boring and monotonous but its a job and its only for a month. Its about 50/50 foreign workers and locals. Lots of nice people to meet so its going pretty well so far. Considering the fact that we are around beautiful gala apples all day everyday, we haven't eaten that many of them. I guess we are sick of looking at them!

But our accomodation is a whole different ball game......

We live in the "rat shack" as Wes calls it, and its exactly that. Its a small shack in the middle of an orchard with 4 bedrooms and the kitchen. There are 10 people living there and then 5 more people in the "shed" next door (along with the mice). The "shed" was where Wes was supposed to be staying but his room had ivy and vines growing in from the ceiling and walls so he stayed on the floor in our room. Its the accomodation that you would imagine somewhere in Asia, not here. Regardless, its super cheap and the door locks so it will do for now.
Lets just hope our stuff is dry when we get back tonight, since its raining!!!

We went back to the big city of Nelson for our weekend off. Stayed at the same hostel as last time and met up with some friends of ours. Went out dancing and had a great time.

Hopefully the weather will get better this weekend so that we can go check out some more beaches. We are so close to the Abel Tasman National Park and numerous other areas so we will have to do some exploring.

Oh, we work and live with a girl from P.E.I that lived in Port Alberni for a few months, a few years ago. Small world eh?

We think of everyone at home often... love ya!
