We flew into Auckland late lastnight after spending nearly 26hrs in transit.
Had a teary goodbye saying bye to my parents in Kuta but now onto a new adventure, just Will and I. We had such a great month with them!
We were able to step foot outside in Darwin but thats about it.... until next time anyways. Then flew to Sydney, then onto Auckland.
Spent the day walking around the city and harbours. Kind of a cloudy day but it was nice. Met up with a friend of ours that we met in Bali when we first got there. She works and lives in Auckland and met us for a bevy after work. She gave us some suggestions of things to do in the next few days so it should be fun to check out the area.
Downtown Auckland feels kind of like Victoria or Vancouver with lots of trees and the ocean. Big main streets with lots of people around. It has a nice feel to it. Our hostel that we are at in about 10 min walk from downtown so its all pretty close.
We bought a cell phone with a NZ sim card today... super cheap.... and then once we get to Australia we can get a different sim card.
We are planning on flying down to the south isalnd this week to meet up with our friend, Wes, from Campbell River. Wont give us much time to explore this area of the country but we will come back when we have more time.
