The Redwood Forest and Crescent City

We just finished our two days in the Redwoods. Those are some really big trees! :-) In fact, the hotel we stayed at was built out of a single Redwood. Sad and neat at the same time... Also, Graham says its the perfect hipster hotel- you'll see in the pictures...
We spent both days hiking through different parts of the park. Day 1 was all about the stars of the show- the big trees. We may have been a little overzealous, because we ended up hiking a 6.5 mile trail! In the mountains!!! Day 2 began with a hike to the coast, naked hippie spotting (hehehe), and smoked salmon sandwiches on the beach. Then we fjorded a river (poor rental car), saw a bunch of elk, and hiked fern canyon- sooo beautiful!!
After our time there, we spent the night in Eureka and ate at my new favorite brewery- the Lost Coast! mmmm.. then we drove to San Fran- listening only to songs with "California" in the title... but we ran out too quickly and had to give up on that. More on San Fran later.Bye!
