Only two days left until I embark on a 24 hour flight home.

Aaron and I left the tropical north and worked our way south. We stayed an extra day in Auckland going to museums. We went to the maritime museum and looked at Maori sailing vessels and war canoes. We then went to the Auckland Museum and spent several hours getting lost in Maori history, colonization history, war history, and natural history. The highlight for both of us was to see Sir Edmund Hillary's ice ax, the one he used to make the first accent of Mt. Everest.

We flew out of Auckland yesterday into chilly Christchurch where Elizabeth picked us up and we went on a whirlwind spending spree of getting gifts and souvenirs. Today we got up early to go to an Anzac Day service. Anzac Day is our equivalent of Memorial Day, but New Zealand puts a great deal more heart and soul into it than we do. We're organizing and trying to figure out how many miles we've finally done, which is somewhere near 300 miles.

Tomorrow we pack and then we're up bright and early to get to the airport on the 27th. Hard to believe we're leaving paradise to go back to the real world. Getting pictures up on the blog is still a no-go, so when I get home I'll put them in an online album for all to view. For those of you I'll see in person will hopefully get a personal slide show if you want one. I have take about 1,500 pictures (Aaron hasn't even broke 200). Of course not all of these pictures will be in the album because I have yet gone through the tedious task of weeding out the poor pictures. And the slide show will only be the best of the best pictures, which narrows that down even more.

And thanks to all who commented on our blogs, sorry I never responded to any of them.

Also, there was problems on publishing the last blog entry, so if you haven't read it, you might want to go back and look at that one giving details of our last tramp.

Cheers and see you soon!
