Saturday: Me, Sheila and Matthew drove down to a town called Grantsville and stopped at a wildlife reserve called Maru Koala Park. First we saw 2 Tasmanian Devils, then a few parrots that said hello to us! Then we saw wombats, an al paca, a goat and a pony. Then there were a few Emu's who didn't look too friendly, and then Kangaroos!! We bought some kangaroo seed to feed them, and they were very friendly. Some were fairly small and young, and some were huge, probably the size of me if they stood up! They hopped around us, and hung onto our fingers with their front paws when we fed them. They are so cute!
After the kangroos we saw a few koalas sitting in the trees. They were all asleep, apparently they sleep for around 19-20 hours a day, and all they eat is Eucalyptus leaves. I wasn't able to hold one as it's illegal in Victoria because they are bigger and stronger here than in Queensland.
After the koalas, we drove down to Philip Island, stopped at Rhyll first and had fish and chips on the beach, then went to Cowes, sat on the beach and played in the sea.
We had already booked our tickets for the penguin parade, and had to be there for 7pm, so we drove down to the south side of the island and visited the Nobbies. There are supposed to be lots of seals live round there but we didn't see any. Then to the penguin parade! We booked front row seats, sitting on the sand as the penguins come up from the sea. They arrived at 8:24pm, waddling up the beach in big groups. We must have seen hundreds, they were so cute! And some of them had eaten so many fish during the day, they were struggling to walk and kept falling on their bellies! They walked within a couple of meters of us, back to their burrows in the sand dunes.
After the penguins, we had a hot chocolate while we waited for the car park to go quiet (there were hundreds of people) and then drove home.
Sunday: quiet day at the house, 27 degrees so sunbathing on the balcony! xxx

Comments
Wow all your pics look amazing! Kangaroos are definitely smaller than I imagined though, do they come in different sizes? Also it seems weird that the ozzies eat them when they have them in zoos!
Haha! Benjy that comment made me laugh out loud! Do they come in different sizes?? Of course they do! There was one male (I think) that was pretty big. Also, when they stand up they seem ALOT bigger. Most of the ones I saw were female or babies I think. Anyway, you'll find it all out for yourself soon! xxxxxxx
