Sandy and I spent the last month or so figuring out what we need to bring on our trip - I think we've read through every packing list that exits!  Since we'll be flying on smaller planes in South Africa to get into the Kruger national park, we are pretty restricted in what type of luggage and how much weight we can carry.  We had to buy a couple of new bags that were small enough and didn't have any internal frame to them (they are basically duffel bags).

Based on the advice that we found, we each ended up with about a week's worth of clothing. This means that we will be doing laundry along the way which should prove to be interesting... We also made sure that everything can be layered so that we have things to wear in the 75 degree weather in South America and the 50 degree weather in Iceland.

Along with the clothes there are all of the other odds and ends that we need like toiletries, extra shoes, hats, sunglasses, camera, binoculars, travel adapters, the Surface, two Kindles, a clothesline, travel pillows, all of our paperwork, and various medication.  When we set it out on our bed, we were a little bit afraid that it wasn't going to fit.

Luckily everything turned out better than expected :)  All of our supplies fit with plenty of room to spare (yay, space for souvenirs!). In other good news, the bags weigh under 20lbs apiece which will make it easy for us to move around. I think we're both happy that we were able to pack nice and light, now we just hope that we aren't forgetting anything!
