Where I stayed
at sooooo many places :) haha
Hey guys!
Story time with SANDRA (this time ;))!
So many things happened since the last entry, as u can see at the pictures ;)
Lets get a chronological order and start with week 1 (30.8-5.9.2010):
Monday: Julian and me had class at uni... yes I know, we're always studying... so good students :P afterwards chillin on the river and sunbathing :)
Tuesday: Jule @ Uni while I had a job interview with the Managing Director of Australian Soul Tours & Events (www.australiansoul.com) - small company offering German tours through Australia. I can maybe start as an assistant for some projects :) Afterwards I went on a motorbike-tour with Simon (student-mate) in the Adelaide Hills and saw my first Australian animal - en echidna!! :D
Wednesday: Start of spring in Adelaide!! We had an invitation for dinner from Hughs parents. It was such a nice evening, having good food from an Australian mum and nice conversations :)
Thursday: Julian and me studying (I know, again! *ts*); 6.30-8pm soccer training
Friday: getting up soon, driving in the city to assure getting tickets for U2's concert in Brisbane! aaaaaaaaaand yes we got them! Then we immediately started planning the trip. Outcome: Julian, Dominik, Erica and me are flying to the Gold Coast - relaxing a few days at Surfers Paradise (yes, the city is really called surfers paradise!!! :D) and then driving to Brisbane for the greatest concert of the world where the streets have no name...
Saturday: the plan was watching dvd with anna+hugh and enjoying the evening. but it was raining so heavily that just 5 min. before they came to our unit the electricity broke down :/ sooo we approx. waited 1hour and then decided to go to Hughs parents house, bc we couldnt do anything at our flat. after some troubles with the television over there everything was fine and we had a really great night, watching dvd and having typical austrian dinner (thx to hugh+anna who bought leberkäse and Hughs mum who made apfelstrudel :)). awesome!
Sunday: at 1pm I had a game and Julian came to watch in the belief he will have
time to study there... no! he even had to be the linesman :D and by the
way it was father's day! so congrats, dads!
Week 2 (6.-12.09.2010):
Monday: both @ Uni; and when I entered the class everyone was shouting "yeah it's week 10"!! After some confused looks at my colleagues Erica told me that 'week 10' means last lecture and then just 2 more weeks to go to learn for exams or, in my case, finishing major assignments. and no guys i wasnt jumping or also screaming yippie, bc I really loved this course and the lecturer, but time goes on... and I think I should start writing the major now :/
Tuesday: lazy day; Jule @ Uni and gym; me reading articles about New Zealand for the major; at 9.30pm watching Parenthood together - cool soap!
Wednesday: plumber-time, (installateur) bc the shower was dripping and the light in the living room didnt work. some hours later everything was fine and as soon as the plumber was outside the shower was dripping even more :/ whatever!
Thursday: At 12am we attended the free lunch at the student lounge and got to know some buddies. we all got along so well that they invited us to an event next thursday ;) Afterwards we visited Annalisa at her italian restaurant and had an iced- chocolate to cool down, bc it was so hot outside! Then we went to the river, lying in the sun and simply enjoying student-life with kruger, annalisa and hugh :D In the evening we both played soccer.
Friday: studying the whoooooole day.... no, of course not all the time, but nearly. At 6pm we went to my campus again and had BBQ over there with some of my student-colleagues. After playing some table-tennis and teaching them playing a "Ringerl", we joined the international student party. While shaking & rocking on the dance floor, time passed by and at 3am we decided to go home. But how? Public transport stopped at midnight and walking would take us 1 hour. Therefore, I called a friend, who is taxi driver and luckily he was around the city and gave us a free lift home :)
Saturday: After 3hours of sleep we crawled to my campus again to enter the bus trip to McLaren Vale. 1st stop bakery followed by two wineries, where we tasted about 15wines at each location (yes! and all that after the big party yesterday). At 12am we had a big lunch and ate so much that we nearly got sober (=nüchtern) again :) While the sun was shining we toured to two other wineries and then drove back to Adelaide. To watch the sunset we decided to walk along the river and having a dinner afterwards. Finally, totally exhausted, Julian and I went to the end event of the Royal Adelaide Show to see the fireworks. 11pm @ home, falling asleep soon...
Sunday: 9am get up, on our way to the city. 11:30am opening ceremony of the Malaysian Carnival. Unfort. I could just stay there for 1 hour and then had to go to my game. While Julian was having Malaysian food, I played in the hot sun soccer. Julian came to the pitch after the first half and saw the first goal i scored for my team!!!! yihaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! :)
The weather was so nice that we stayed there to watch another game and then went home, cooking, washing, ... (yes we also do those things :P)
Well guys, now u got a good impression what student-life is about in good old Adelaide ;)
This week is also already filled out with some events, so don't miss the next entry ;)
cu & take it easy!
