Where I stayed
MTDC Amboli - Green Valley Resort
By: Sandhya
Two more critters join in – Kedar and Yashada
The train was an hour and fifteen minutes late! Poor Kedar and Yashada had to wait because they left from Amboli before we could inform them about the delay. Outside the station we all set eyes on a being that was to be our constant companion over the whole trip; it was the beginning of a relationship most rewarding for all parties involved, except the being we were meeting. It was green, freshly scrubbed and shampooed, and fated to be top (and middle) heavy over the next 7 days. It was a Maruti Omni belonging to Kedar's grandpa, who had no idea what it was in for J.
{Another recurring theme in the trip – Sheila, Sheila ki jawaani…}. Do all of you see Sneha’s dance step in your mind’s eye? Don’t forget to include the expression. For more details, refer to Shreekant’s Facebook Konkan album, the last picture.
Stayed at Green Valley Resort in Amboli.
Had a huge lunch (started the fish hogging) at a place that Sneha and Page had scouted out when they were here earlier. Post lunch was the surprise event of the day. Kedar was pointing out a shop with ice creams down the road, which so caught up Mahua’s attention, she tripped and twisted her foot! Sigh! The things food can do to the people on this trip!
For the rest of the day, we went to a lateritic plateau (now do all of you see JJ enacting a plateau with glittering eyes?) and took a few pics, had a few litres of sherbet after that, and then went to the point of origin of Hiranyakeshi river. The river originates inside a cave, which has a small temple. We played around / photographed around for a while, after which it got quite cold. On the way back there was one of the loveliest full moons watching over us as Green Omni made its way back to Amboli.
