I didn't tell a soul I was coming back home. I just got the plane to Birmingham International, got the train to Derby Train station and a taxi home- had my house keys and some money to be able to make it home.

I arrived back at home at 2pm, I had missed my mum by 30 minutes as she had already left for work and wasn't back until 9pm. First thing I did was go and speak to the parrots the eldest one Mitz recognised me and was chirping away and chatting away in his own way, animals are sooo intuitive, the baby of the family Raam had no clue who I was and just stared in confusion.

I didn't bother to unpack, just showered, watched TV and fell asleep in my mum's bed. I woke up to some shouting "Lucky Lucky" (my brothers name)- I came thundering down the stairs and when my mum saw me she just stared in COMPLETE and UTTER AWE!!! She gave me the BIGGEST hug a mother could possibly give to her child, I was sooo nervous as I thought I'd give her a heart attack. She saw the suitcase in the kitchen and thought my brother had come home for the weekend. She had NO IDEA I would be back so early. she was just jogging up and down the hallway calling all my family to say I was back, she didn't know what to do with herself.

After ringing the whole of Derby, we sat, chatted she fussed over me and it was just GREAT to be home again. Being away for 9 months and just speaking to my mum was difficult in hindsight.

It felt so surreal to be back home- I felt as though I hadn't gone anywhere. The next 7 weeks or so would be interesting as i had 10 days or so to chill and visit people as I would be starting my CELTA course for 5 weeks, Monday-Friday, 9-5- it was going to be intense having to travel to Nottingham everyday via public transport.

Back home- BIG SIGH of relief!!
