We got onto the bus, expecting to be in Nagaon in around 20 minutes. However, Kashid-Nagaon is around an hour's journey. This meant we would be in Nagaon only by around 8PM, which is not really a good time to reach a small place like that, is what I thought, particularly since we didn't have any accommodation arranged.
A co passenger suggested that we get off one stop before Nagaon, called Hatale, where the market is. We found one reasonably big grocery store, bought some supplies-biscuits and chiki(in case we didn't find dinner) and asked the shop guy if there was a guesthouse nearby. He said there was a hotel(small eatery) next to his shop, and the owner runs a guest house. We met the owner, Mr. Risbud and luckily, he said he had a room available.
The guest house was nothing fancy, just a basic room to sleep, but it was clean and airy. the bathrooms, toilets and wash basins had a running supply of water. There was a small farm behind the guest house(wadi) and in front was a courtyard where you could put your chairs and chill.
His family stays next door. They run the guest house as a family business. Food
(only veg food) is cooked by Mrs. Risbud and served by their young son, Ashutosh.
The food was exactly what we needed, simple and tasty, freshly made home cooked food. After dinner, we went for a walk round the village and did some star gazing.
The next morning, we went to the Nagaon beach. Ashotosh showed us the way to the beach through the farms. He also gave us pointers on where we could lose our way on the way back !!
The sand was browner than the ones downwards. There was a fair bit of crowd, but here too the beach was quite clean. Most of the crowd was busy in the various water sports that were on. Most were some type of floating body pulled by a speed boat.
We went for a walk around the beach in the direction of Akshi. When the sun started feeling hotter, we decided to head back, after having some tea and coffee. While at the tea stall, we saw a couple of foreigners headed to the autorickshaw across us. The asked for an auto to Murud. The guy asked for Rs. 750.00 While the bargaining was on, we went and told the foreign couple about the bus and that it was a convenient option. The were quite pleased with this option, and we got talking. The most interesting part of the conversation was when we started talking about what it is we that we do back home. Turns out, the guy's work was similar to that of Chetan's and he too was interested in photography !!! What are the odds, of meeting a guy from Finland, with similar work and interests as you, while chilling at a beach in Nagaon !!!
After saying goodbyes, we headed back to our guest house. Saw a few Drongos on the way back.
Once back, Mrs. Risbud had made amazing dahi wadas for breakfast. We had those, freshened up and headed back to Alibaug.

Stay at guest house: Rs.500.00
Dinner+Breakfast+Tea+coffee:Rs. 257.00
Refreshments at Nagaon beach: Rs. 20.00
