Well I made it eventually. It was quite a long and tiring flight. (14 hours flying time in total)  A 2 hour journey to Madrid from Heathrow which was nightmare when I got to Madrid. Flight was delayed by 15 mins and only had a hour transit so all a bit rushed, but when I got to the airport there were no signs so had no idea where to go so asked the first airport guy who directed me right down the end of the transit lounge to gate 72. I then queued up and was told that I had to go to gate 42 to get a boarding ticket which was a good 5 to 10 min walk down the other end. I had a heavy day pack to lug so I walked as fast as I could. An english lady was behind me who spoke spanish and she had the same problem so she explained what we needed. But the guy said he could produce a boarding ticket for us at their gate was closed so had to run back to gate 72 - at this point it was 10 to midnight flight goes at 12.15 - and Im knackered. Anyway finally they agree to hand write the boarding passes and we get on hurrah. Flight was ok but pretty bumpy, it was entirely a night flight and lasted 12 hours, but I managed to get some sleep and we arrived in Lima 05.30 their time. Its a very modern airport with a macdonalds etc was quite surprised. Then spent a couple of hours with Sandra the english woman and her belgian work colleague who Id met sorting out boarding passes, they were also travelling onto Cusco for a conference. So we had a coffee and then checked in our luggage for the next flight which was only an hour long. The flight flew over the andes and we were really close to them so had fantastic views of snow covered mountains. Finally arrived in Cusco around 0930 local time. Luggage all ok and my coordinator Jess was there to meet me on what has turned out to be a gorgeous lovely sunny day with clear blue skies. My hotel room has 3 beds and a shower room and is totally adequate but I may move into an apartment later on and may even go and spend a week in the village rural community teaching english and learning to weave!!!! Been to one of the other placements today San Juan which caters for disabled children I think I may work there but still have some others to see before I decide.  Jess works in a resturant just around the corner from the hotel and they have employed a local to dress up as Paddington Bear - Ive had my photo taken and will try and upload onto the pc as soon as possible its quite hilarious. Tomorrow I am having a  massage its only $3 I have very stiff shoulders at the moment and then Im doing the city tour. On sunday there is a salsa concert nearby and on Monday I check out more workplacements. My intense week of spanish lessons start on Tuesday so it will be interesting to see how I get on with them. Apparently private salsa lessons are only $3 so I may get signed up for those too..So it is now 7.22pm local time 1.22 UK time and I am absolutely shattered. I have a headache and feel a little breathless and very dehydrated which I think is part tiredness and to do with the altitute but I dont feel sick so hopefully after a goodnights sleep Ill be ok. So will upload pix of Cusco when I have a few more to show. It has the feel or a spanish city with cobbled streets, very narrow roads and plazas and seems pretty chilled out and relaxed so Im hoping Ill be happy here.  So until next time adios amigos
