Got on the bus and stopped for a nice walk by a waterfall before continuing on to River Valley Adventure Lodge. Very pretty hideaway with towering hills and cliffs, green fields and Rangitikei River right on the doorstep. We had dorm accomodation here which was one huge room with basically a long low shelf covered with mattresses butted up to each other and another one above it. A massive sleepover party!!!!! So had fun in the evening with us all piled on the bottom bunk playing card games and pillow fights and midnight feasts!

The next morning we went down for a swim in the river which was icy cold! I dipped my toe in and decided it was far too arctic to get in. Which of course led to a big chase and inevitably me getting thrown in by 4 others. Worth it though for a refreshing splash about and a big cliff the other side you could climb out and jump in. Randomly there was also a small platform suspended on ropes over the river on a kind of pulley system which was interesting to try and navigate your way across.

Following that was a lazy afternoon playing frisbee before getting back on the bus.
