Evening.

Last entry for you all. Yes, it brings a tear to my eye too.

We were up a little earlier than usual this morning to finish off the packing and make sure we had plenty of time to get to the airport. It was all going well until we weighed our suitcase. 35kg. Ooops. We had a limit of 32kg being that there were 2 of us and only 1 suitcase. Out came half the contents of the case again and we filled our hand luggage as much as we could, only stopping when we realised we were well and truly outside the size limits for easyjet (thank god there is no weight limit on hand luggage with them, as long as you can lift it it's good to go apparently). After repacking the case (twice!) we were finally under the weight limit according to our portable luggage scales (best travel gadget we've bought, get one, they're great!). We managed to close the hand luggage bags and get them onto our backs, had one last look around the apartment to make sure we hadn't left anything behind and off we went to catch the plane home.
We walked up to the railway station, with a little detour to Bernie, Steve and Tim's hotel to leave them a bag of treats (well, 4 flags, a ball of string and 2 wine gums!). And then got a cab to the aiport (or plane station as Marie called it in a moment of tiredness last night) as we were now running behind schedule due to the continual repacking of the case.
On arrival at the plane station we checked in and discovered that our case on the easyjet scales was 0.4kg overweight. Ooops again! Fortunately a charming smile or two later the woman at check in slapped a 'heavy bag' sticker on the case and off we went without even a thought of an excess weight charge. And after having our copious hand luggage (admittedly only one heavy bag each) scanned and no shoe removal needed we were through passport control and waiting to board the plane. We met the Stoneys at the gate. They had just arrived back in Helsinki in their continual fly in and out for each game policy (really don't think it can be that much cheaper to do), they've got the drum with them, so with that and the air horns and bike horn (you know the sort, the ones that clowns use) that Bernie, Steve and Tim (the Dream Team apparently) there should be some noise at the match to try and combat the clapping nature of the Finns. Then, before we knew it, or rather after a very uncomfortable 3 hour doze, we were back in Blighty. Blimey the weather is foul here. Didn't mind all to much at first as we had 4 layers of clothing on (trying to avoid over weight case).

We got home around 6pm (ish) after stopping at the airport for coffee and cigarettes (no coffee and cake today!). It's good to be back. We can smoke indoors, and spread out as much as we like! We've both got used to the small size of the apartment, so the house is feeling really big, and we can stand up properly in our bedroom without bumping our head on the ceiling - how novel!
We finally got round to checking the matches had recorded on our Sky+ box only to discover they weren't there! Did Eurosport swap the channels for the games or something, as there was no evidence of the England games on our planner at all! Not at all impressed. (Hence me not liking Eurosport this evening!) So if any of you have recorded the games could you please send us a copy? We'll pay for discs and postage and stuff. Thanks in advance.

Hey ho. I'm back at work bright and early tomorrow (staff meetings from 9am, nice!). Just need to find a good excuse to leave early and be back at home for kick off. Lisa isn't back at work just yet, so will be texting me if I can't get out straight away.
Sing your hearts out tomorrow, we will be (even if I am at work)!

Big love
Sam & Lisa xx
