Hey- Going into my second month in the Philippines. I got Lucky and was introduced to a fella from my 'hometown' back in the States who now resides in the Philippines....an Ex-Pat as they are called. There is a large group here and we all got together for a pig roast and a couple of beers to celebrate the fourth of July. The fireworks were provided by GOD who put on a terrific lightning storm! I have been to a few beaches now and I am still searching for the 'one'. I'll let you know when I get there. Tomorrow I am off to Bohol which is home to the Chocolate mountains, which should make for some good photos. Speaking of photos....I bought a new memory card for my camera which held a couple thousand pictures....Never buy anything in China!
Anyhow, I have visited a few 'historical' sites here and there.....And I have started over on the pictures. In closing this bit a short story to maybe give you some insights into the Filipino way of 'thinking'.....I had to get my visa extended here and whilst the paperwork was be processed I thought I'd take a walk around the neighborhood to see what's what.....Lo and behold there is a 'Tourist's Office'...so I stop in. Everyone is real friendly and genuinely surprised to see an actual tourist! I ask....'What is there to see in your fair city?' to which the man replies...'Nothing Sir, this is an industrial city, there's nothing to really see here.' This led to some head scratching and the obvious question....'Then....Why? Why do you have a tourist office?' He gave me a knowing smile and a map with the location of all the things not to be seen.

A lot to see
Looks like they got something to see. How long are you planning to stay? Just came back from Pattaya it is
very quiet there. But I enjoyed it.
Good luck
Alois
