The markets along the waterfront had stalls set up selling grilled salmon, potatoes, veg and another massive hotplate with slices of moose, reindeer, beef and potato on so we stopped off there for lunch and some people watching. Spent the rest of the day aimlessly strolling the streets, I bought a few more clothes (no surprises there) then we caught a cab to the right ferry terminal and at 1700 we set sail for Russia.
Oh that was after I was abused by some old man for trying to steal his cab, which by the way was a complete misunderstanding
As for the ferry to St Petersburg hahaaha certainly not of the same standard as the one from Sweden that's for sure. It was more The Love Boat than Casino Royale. Didn't stop us from having a great time though plus our cabin was nicer and above the waterline. Despite looking somewhat outdated one bar sold pints of mojito for a fiver! Another was outside on the top deck which offered amazing views departing Helsinki and at sunset. Oh and then there was the Drunk Rabbit and the Rabbit Hole - WIERD! And the litre bottle of 70% vodka Sam bought for four quid - judging by the smell I don't think we will be drinking it any time soon if at all!
It was a highly entertaining journey indeed which was met by a not so entertaining hangover the next day but nevermind. At least we managed to change our clocks and set the right alarm this time.
