Our next day in Bergen was wonderfully sunny so we retraced steps, caught the funicular up to a viewpoint, ate king crab, prawns and did some emergency shopping when my flipflops had a fatal blowout leaving Sam sat barefooted on a bench whilst I clobbered about in his shoes trying to find some replacements.... and wouldn't you know it, I ended up finding two pairs.

One thing we have noticed about Norway, besides from the pesky winnebagos, is the number of Spanish and Italian people. Numerous times we have been greeted in Italian. Not Norwegian or English. Italian. Go figure. Only on very rare occasions have we heard English but are thankful that everyone does speak it when they realise we do. I'm sure that will change as we edge towards Russia!

After lunch we drove 1 1/2 hours to the nice but quiet little town of Voss situated on a lake and not dissimilar to that of a Swiss town, minus the altstadt. Tent pitched we ambled along the lakeside, up around a church and to a cafe (of sorts) by the water where we watched tourists kyack and firefighters do some training. At 9 quid a pint we left after one and returned to the campsite to BBQ and watch the sun go down whilst chatting to a Norwegian man who had taken off for a few days on his motorbike. It wasn't long before the chill crept in and we were forced to layer up and bunker down for the night.
