We left Koh Lanta's season bungalows with very fond memories and took a 1 hour boat trip to Koh Jum.
Koh Jum is the most remote and undeveloped island we've visited. It's surrounded by rocks so even our small ferry couldn't get close, we had to a longtail boat with our rucksacks mid-sea! This was made even more chaotic as reprasentatives from each resort are baracking you to get on their boat.
We stayed at 'season bungalow', on a recommendation by a fellow traveller. It's a lovely family ran resort with the charm and innocence that the whole island posesses. As there is no mains electricity the beautiful island hasn't attracted much development and tourism, which is a refreshing sight. All this is set to change though as an electricity mains network is being built this summer.
We spent our 2 days on Koh Jum relaxing, eating, reading and generally chilling. We found a friendly beach bar called 'Freedom' and explored the palm tree jungle for some mokey spotting.
We left Koh Jum happy and mellow and transfered onto the main ferry boat to Krabi to get to Railey beach.
