Sorry, once again, for the delayed posting! We have had a lot of very full days in Paris. We drove to Paris from Caen via the "Red Ball Express," which is a route that was used in WW2. When we arrived we checked into our hotel and went to the Louvre. We were able to meet up with the other group that is here, so that was a lot of fun. There are only two girls on this trip, whereas the other group has all girls and one boy. It was refreshing to spend time with girls again! The Louvre was beautiful, we saw the Mona Lisa obviously. It is huge and would probably take an entire 8 hour day in order to see and appreciate every piece of artwork in there. We sort of breezed through it because we were tired and it was in the evening, but hopefully I'll get to go back before we leave.

That night we tried to go out on the town, which made me realize that Paris is a really crazy city. And it smells bad, not as romantic as it’s made out to be. There are weird bars everywhere that have half clothed male waitors and require you to take your bra off at the door. Paris is also very expensive, I suppose I saw that coming though.

Yesterday was our first full day in Paris and our group went to Versailles. Our focus was in the Hall of Mirrors, which is where the Treaty of Versailles was created. John Maynard Keynes (one of the economists participating in the treaty) is a pretty interesting guy, I would like to read his biography to learn more about him once we’re home from this trip. After Versailles I went over to the other group’s hotel (they are a biology class) and hung out with some friends from Linfield. It was really fun, we just hung out in the hotel and drank wine and talked. I loved it because I’m sick of hanging out with guys all the time. Don’t get me wrong, the guys in our group are great, but all of the testosterone can be overwhelming.

The best part of the Versailles gardens was this sheep farm that we found. We started baaaa-ing at the sheep and they just ran over to us and let us pet them. They were really gross and dirty, but still fun and cute. Some of them were extremely ugly though, not the cute kind of sheep from Babe. My favorite sheet was the brown one with horns. He was different from all of the others, he seemed more inquisitive and cautious. I named him Oliver.

This morning I woke up at 5AM and threw up, it sucked. I was sick and throwing up all day and could barely get out of bed. Luckily Aaron was able to take care of me so I felt a lot better by the end of the day and I was able to go to dinner with both of the groups. I did wish I had my mom to take care of me though. Being sick in a hotel room sucks. I’m going to get a really good night’s sleep tonight so that I can go to the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triophe tomorrow. Home in 2 days!
