Today's entry is going to be a little short because I am so tired and I just finished writing a paper, so I'm a little wiped out! Last night I stayed up really late because we had a free day today. We met a nice Danish couple outside of the hotel and split a cab with them so that we could go to Soho. We ended up in Leicester Square, and the Danes wanted to go into this really gross bar that only tourists go to, so we ended up followed them and then leaving almost immediately after. Oh well, it was a fun adventure I suppose.
Yesterday we went to the Air Space museum (kind of like London's version of Evergreen) about an hour and a half away from our hotel. It was really cool, except for the fact that my camera ran out of batteries :( After the museum we stopped in Cambridge to eat lunch in a pub. Outside of the pub, there was a plaque that said that the discovery of DNA was first conversed there many years ago. The pub was right across the street from the University of Cambridge! Cambridge is a very cute city, I wish I could have taken photos of it, stupid camera batteries. I will not allow that to happen ever again! I was also able to going inside of the Cambridge University bookstore. It made me want to go to graduate school there, just for my masters though. I'm not sure if I could commit myself to living there for 4-5 years. I wouldn't mind spending a few years of my life somewhere in England though. It's very quaint here. One major downside is that customer service doesn't really exist. Maybe it's because we're American so they feel the need to be extra rude? I miss people smiling at me after I buy something from them.
Today was our free day and a group of us went to Buckingham Palace in an attempt to see the changing of the guards. We were, however, mistaken as to which day the changing of the guards took place. We were there one day too soon :( It's alright though because we got some fun pictures. After that we took the Tube to the Tower of London and saw the Crown Jewels. British royalty is kind of silly to me. They had an invaluable amount of precious stones and metals, and also a massive punch bowl. What is the point? That punch bowl was probably worth millions of dollars and they never even use it anymore. They also had a crown there that was only worn for 3 1/2 hours while one of the kings went to India. Since the crowns are not allowed to leave Britain, they made a special crown for his trip to India. Kind of frivolous if you ask me.
That's all for now! Tomorrow we have class in the morning, then I'm planning on going to Madame Tussaud's wax museum! I am so excited. I will make sure to charge my camera tonight!

I was in London back in '93 (I think it was '93) (I will have to get my old passport and check) and saw just about all you have seen. We did see a lot of old castles and churches. LOL Grandma
