Today we started out at 10AM and headed to the Imperial War Museum which holds a large amount of Soviet, British, German, and American tanks from World War 2. We are learning about the different objectives that each country had in the war, and it really did affect how they produced their artillery. I will upload all of my pictures from the museum tonight, they had some pretty amazing stuff.

The most interesting part of the museum for me was the section the covered children during WW2. Many children would have to be shipped over to North America to live with foster parents for up to 5 years, waiting to be reunited with their parents. The exhibit had pictures of small children with gas masks, and babies that were carried in small gas chambers in case an attack occurred. There was also a letter that they would use to send to the parents of children that had been attacked while crossing the Atlantic to North America. It was a very sad exhibit, but also very eye opening. I have enjoyed learning about how society was impacted during the war as far as their standard of living and the constant fear of attack. I will upload pictures of this exhibit tomorrow!

After the museum Aaron and I rode the metro to Harrod's, a very big and fancy department store. It wasn't exactly in my price range, but they did have a Krispy Kreme store :) They also had en ENORMOUS food court with gourmet chocolates and cupcakes and every kind of pastry that you could imagine. We also ran into a semi-creepy memorial of Princess Diana and her boyfriend. I will add a picture of that as well :)

Tomorrow we have class for a few hours and then we have the day to ourselves. I will be updating my blog nearly everyday, so you should subscribe to receive messages whenever I update it! Either that, or you can just check it everyday! It's about 11:30PM here now (3:30 PM on the west coast), so I am heading off to bed. I hope all of my friends and family in the US are doing well and I miss you a lot! Feel free to email me and I will respond as soon as possible! My email is SCallen@linfield.edu

love,
Sam
