We arrived into Chicago at around 10am after our overnight journey from Buffalo, and let me tell you, people say the Greyhound buses are full of weird people, but ours wasn't, people just slept, or tried to in my case :-(.

Once we had arrived we did get slightly lost looking for the hostel we were going to be staying in, and let me be honest here, it was my fault, I actually have the worst sense of direction of anyone that I know, but I suppose not knowing my left from my right makes it a massive problem... but you know, don't complain about it afterwards, just take the directions in the first place, its not my fault!

We ended up getting a taxi and staying at the Hostelling International hostel, which thankfully, despite having a girl scout group staying, still had enough beds left for us.

I can honestly say though that today has been a massive washout, Rachael was in a funny mood all day which didn't really help my mood, and I do have to say that after she went in a bit of a strop I decided to spend as much time apart from her that I could.

Mostly I spent that in the computer room, mostly uploading some of my pictures to flickr and getting around to sending some emails out to my friends. I even got to catch up with what Bex was up to in S. America, which was really nice.

By dinner time I headed back up to the room to see what Rachael was up to and to find out if she wanted food, she did, so we headed to the 7/11 on the corner, and Rachael told me all about a trip she wanted to do while we were in Las Vegas.

When we got back to the room, she showed me on the laptop the tour she wanted to do, which was of 'Area 51', we were originally going to try to get to Roswell, NM, but there is no train that goes anywhere near there and the closest we can get is a 6 hour bus journey away, so as we couldn't go there, we decided to instead do this. Well I say we, in fact it was Rachael that decided this really, but as I felt awful about the way things have been going with us on this trip so far, I decided that a compromise was yet again needed on my part, thats the thing though isn't it, the compromise always seems to be on my side :-(
