We missed the ferry over to Pangkor, a small island off the coast of Malaysia so had to find a hostel at the port. We found a hotel which was absolutely disgusting - There was no-one there for a start, and when I asked for a room they offered me - what i think - was their bedroom which had dirty, stained, stinky sheets, a broken door and of course, next to the bathroom again. So all we could hear was the owners coughing, flemning and going to the toilet all night long. it was so bad, we slept on top of our bags and left about 6am for the first ferry!!!

the ferry ride wasn't long, about an hour or so. When we arrived we were surround with bright pink taxis that take you around the island. I dont know why we chose to go in the direction we did, but we just fancied a bit of girl time chilling out on the beach. We found a hotel and the owner showed us to our room which was BEAUTIFUL!! Clean, nice sheets on a double bed, warm water and a lovely little balcony/terrace. Heaven!!! Plus free Wifi, which was something I apparently couldn't live without!! The weather was great, hot and a bit cloudy. I'll never forget the owners advice about going out "Take a stick with you to scare away the wild dogs & monkey's" - Great tip!!

This island was beautiful, but a bit boring. We were there while the rest of England was covered in a blanket of snow so we though we'd rub salt in the wound and write " No Snow" and "Bored on a beach - Not!' in the sand with the beautiful sun and sea in the background, take a pic and post it on facebook for all to see!!

The only food that seemed to be available here was Oreo's (as everywhere!) and banana fritters - we were here 4 days and left very skinny!!! After the few days we decided we needed another beautiful beach to lay on so booked a ticket to the larger island of ' Georgetown in Penang. We heard there was great food here so couldn't wait!!!

Next stop... Penang!!
