We arrived in Mendoza to a lovely little backpackers with huge garden with pool and hammocks etc.  After getting ready, wondered into town to discover they take their siestas very seriosly here, nothing is open between 2 and 5!
So wondered back to the hostel and basically spent the evening relaxing in the garden with food and wine and a few games of cards.
Next day after a lie in we shared our breakfast witht the very drunken south african Steve and French Jan, whoi were still drinking from the night before, at 11am!  They didnt exactly make a lot of sense!
Went into town and did a bit of shopping and booked ourselves a wine tour for the next day, before relaxing on a little cafe terrace with a glass of wine, watching the world go by.  And then spent my afternoon in a hammock reading a book, which led into another very chilled evening in the garden with a bi bonfire/bbq, and sharing some delicious chocolate liquer with the south african.  So basically a very chilled few days of nothing!
So Wenesday was the wine tour.  It was good, started well at a winery which I had actually tasted the wine of at the good food show.  But then the rest of the mornin seemed to be spent waitin around.  Did a tour of a place that makes different liquers and got a wee taste, then off to an olive farm!  Not really a wine tour!  We then went for a massive asado, bbq for luch.  After that the afternoon was much better, went to another 3 wineries, and a chocolate factory on the way home.
By the time we eventually got back Neiph and Leanne had arrived and were waiting for us in the garden, so cracked open the wine we had just bought and spent the evening with them.
Oh yeah, and the Alton girls are stalking us!  When we got off the bus from the tour they were crossing the road, they were staying in the hostel next door.
Spent the next mrning in the hammock reading until it suddenly poured it down.  Which didnt stop mfor the rest of the day.  Neiph and Leanne were meant to go on their wine tour that day, but Leanne fell asleep in the park in the morning, with Neiphs ticket, and missed the bus!
That evening, after talking about it for days, all the girls headed off for a massive mexican dinner!  Was amazing, ate so much stuff, yummy fajitas, and for 5 of us the total bill was less than 20 quid!  We then headed off to a bar for more wine and cocktails.
Really liked Mendoza, nice town, and of course great wine!
