After our final greyhound bus journey we arrived in Tinsle Town and walked to the Orange Drive Manor Hostel which was right on Hollywood Boulevard behind the famous Graumans Chinese theatre and the walk of stars.
On the first daywe went to Madame Tussauds and mingled with the rich and famous. As we walked out and back onto Hollywood Boulevard we noticed a red carpet being laid out and barriers being set up outside the Chinese Theatre for the premiere of the film 'Clash of the Titans'. All very exciting so we decided to stay and watch the celebs arrive. I (Sally) was extremely excited when we saw the lovely Sam Worthington (Avatar) walk over as we were in the mosh pit of avid fans, photographers and autograph hunters! We managed to get advance screening tickets for the following night in the Graumans Theatre which was brilliant - great 3D film!
We also had a tour around the Kodak theatre that day - where the Oscars are held annually at a cost of 30 million dollars.
After an exciting first day we had an action packed week. We spent two days at Universal studios - really good fun, apart from when I (Sach) made Sally go into the haunted house - mistake. They had actors jumping out and Sally hated it! The Simpsons and Jurassic Park rides were awesome though!
One day we did the movie star homes tour to Beverley Hills and Bel Air. We saw the homes of Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Ben Stiller, MJ's old house, the playboy mansion and a house worth 150 million! The tour made us really jealous but was a lot of fun. We saw a few celebs: Nancy Reagan, George Lopez (US chat show host) and Diane Keaton. We did the walk of fame, saw the movie star hand prints and ate at the Hollywood Hard Rock Cafe. Very busy!
Had a great time in Hollywood and was wicked to see iconic things like the Hollywood sign, we even ate at one of Elvis' favorite restaurants 'Carneys' (an old train carriage turned into a burger restaurant).
We are really looking forward to chilling out on the Hawaiian beaches with a cocktail or two!! Our tour of California has been great - we've seen so many different cities all with their own unique twists and feels. We would definatly recommend anyone to do a roadtrip of the West Coast - so much to do and see!
We are still fit and well - not annoying each other too much!! Looking forward to the warmer weather :D
Lots of love
