AND WELCOME TO BUENAS AIRES!!!!!!! what a livable city! here we caught up with joey and joined her for one last bender before she headed back to Melbourne and back to reality. so we basically spent a week wining and dining with joey and her mates from the machu pěchu trek. and this entailed..............
seeing a tango show at the famous cafe tortoni (over red wine and steak) TICK
taking a tour of the casa rosada (the pink house where evita made her famous speech from the balcony) TICK
attending a football match TICK
staying out till 10am in the morning BA style (somehow we never quite made it to breakfast a the hostel!)TICK
eating lots of pastries and drinking coffee TICK
visiting the colourful houses of caminita in la boca TICK
cruising around a massive silver and leather market TICK
going to see EVITA'a grave TICK
shopping along Sante Fe TICK
consuming copious amounts of cheap but damn good red wine with every meal TICK
eating massive steaks everyday TICK (with the exception of sally who ate a LOT of pasta and bread and dulce de leche....mmmmmm.......dulce de leche)
so all in all Buenas Aires was a very enjoyable experience. but we are now, however, paying for all those sleepless nights and have had to escape to the lakes district to recover!
