Spent a couple of days here. After being on the beach for so long olinda did not imeadiately appeal to us (especially because our hostel was a cheap and nasty). You couldnīt swim in the water and it was hot hot hot with all the concrete around. But as we explored this quaint colonial town it slowly seemed to charm us. It was full of beautiful, colorful colonial building and lots of art. We had some fantastic food here on the streets and in restaurants (although sally still had to be content with cheese on a stick)and we were lucky to be there for the start of a jazz festival where we saw a live band play in the street.
