woke the other morning to a heavy frost which almost looked like snow on the roofs and on the nearby paddock, locals say it will not be a white christmas oh well. the christmas sprirt is in full swing here thats for sure, do mince pies taste better over here? maybe because they are warming and it is easier to eat them in the colder months.
mum sent me a package which was great to recieve, chocolate bullets, tim tams the lot, although i should have put a request in for cheezles and cherry ripes and bonds singlets, next time mum!
i think i haveput on a few kilos as i seem to be eating a lot of food here, on sundays there is a carvey at work so we seem to eat roasts for a few days after, when i was travelling thats what i longed for, now i want some tapas or something a little less heavy
been working long long hours, its not really hard work compared to back home but it does not help that the new bar maanager left us in the lurch after only being there for one week then saying he needed to go to the bank on the friday afternoon and never returning! thanks mate! it sometimes, no, it often feels like faulty towers here, although i think they had premanent members of staff! the two 'chefs' in the kitchen are actually a history student and one an engineer, just to make things a little more interesting.
the regual patrons of the bar are quite nice and there are some good converstations around, i think english guys talk about more interesting things then the average aussie male, although i have steered clear of any cricket talk
all in all its not too bad a place to try and save some pound, although i have no idea where my next port of call will be, it does get a little tiring working, living and partying with the same people. plus it is more islotaed then warrandyte to escape on my limited days off. will try and get outta here before new years, but if elysa is not going to be here i have to decide where to go. . . oh decisions decisions
