Where I stayed
It was another beautiful drive from Switzerland to Austria, more mountains, waterfalls and pretty houses with flower boxes outside the windows. We stayed in a place called Igls about 15 mins out of the town of Innsbruck. The first night there we headed into the small town of Igls for dinner. We went to a restaurant that felt like you had just stepped into an Austrian house for dinner it was great and the food was lovely.
The next day we spent in the town of Innsbruck, first we walked around the old part of town with the cobblestone streets and tourist shops, we found a Christmas shop, I have never seen so many Christmas decorations in what looked like one room but as you went further into the shop there were 5 more rooms of christmas decorations, amazing. It was just about to rain so we did a one hour tour in a horse and Buggy that was enclosed. The lady that was driving the buggy spoke very little english so we thought it wouldn't be a guided tour. Just as we were settling into the ride, this woman in her deep Austrian voice yelled out "SKOOL", we all jumped to attention to look and it was like this for most of the tour, "CHURCH" "FAMILIAR HOUSE" "MONUMENT". It was hilarious.
We stopped at Hotel Sacher for a coffee and a piece of the original Sacher Torte, it sounds good but wasn't that nice.
We finished off the day with a walk along side the river.
