Time for a mini-break. We've been travelling so hard...ahhh. Broome was only 2 hours drive - woo hoo.
Camped near Cable Beach which is glorious. Long beach of white sand and clear warm turquoise water. That is why the Box Jellyfish like it so much. No-one would officially say if they were there or not, but we were too scared to risk it. After observing daring pale british blokes and some aussies we went in to our ankles. You can call us death defying explorers if you like.
Wondered round the town, which is lovely. I'm surprised it's not bigger. You can see why people get sucked in and stay there for months. We also went to see the movie Australia that night in their heritage outdoor movie theatre. You sit on really uncomfortable deck chairs and watch bats fly past, quite a different movie watching experience. We were also pretty shocked to see the movie theatre in the movie - did you get that. They must have filmed there cos we were watching where we were sitting on the big screen. Gasps from the audience rose up and it was probably the most exciting point in the movie to be honest, which is too long and cheesy as hell! But the scenery is fantastic. And Hugh Jackman looks pretty nice :)
A spectacular sunset with fish and chips over cable beach and a night in the local Divers Tavern with a band that looked like guns'n'roses but only seemed to sing AC/DC finished off the next day a treat. What's your favourite AC/DC song? They're just all hits to me, couldn't get enough.
