Where I stayed
For our last two days in Moab, we made some great plans. On Saturday, we thought, Mike can bike the famous Slickrock Trail while Jen relaxes, and then on Sunday we can paddle the flatwater between Moab boat dock and Potash boat dock. Well, the weather didn't exactly cooperate with us. We woke up on Saturday morning at 5 am with the wind howling around our tent and realized it wasn't going to be great mountain biking weather. We then checked the forecast for today, which called for more wind and loads of rain. So instead of sticking around in Moab, we decided to get on the road and head over to Crested Butte, Colorado a day earlier.
We've settled in now and explored the town a bit--it's split up into two sections. Down in the valley is the town of Crested Butte, which has lots of historic buildings and posh shops and restaurants. And up where we're staying, in Mt Crested Butte, is the base of the mountain where the lifts take you up to the ski slopes/mountain bike trails. We start mountain biking on Tuesday, but we're hoping that we might be able to pop into the adaptive sports center tomorrow and rent a handcycle for the day, since we're here a day early with no plans.
